The Democratic Republic of Congo is one of the richest countries in terms of resources; however, it is also one of the poorest countries in the world. Social degeneration, the destruction of families, and the loss of traditional values are the main causes of discomfort for the juvenile.
There are thousands of children who live on the streets at the mercy of people without any concern. These children face all types of danger. The civil society has established rescue and reception centers in order to find a solution to this problem.
These centers are established by the initiatives of volunteers who devote themselves to giving hope to these forgotten children.
Since there aren’t any social policies about this matter, these establishments do not receive enough support from the state. Consequently it is not possible to develop full programs for the younger generation. In these centers, the young ones in difficulty find answers to their primary needs: they receive education and they are being guided to be inserted back into the family and social life.
